It was past midnight when we left LCCT, Kuala Lumpur on board of Air Asia X. We booked XL seats, Air Asia’s version of business class. The three of us, Ton, Anas and I were seated in the front most seats in the middle. There were 7 seats in a row in the XL section as compared to 9 in the usual section. After the prepaid meals of briyani, we grabbed whatever sleep we could get. By 5.30am, we landed in Perth International Airport.

We rented a car, a compact Toyota and with the guidance of a GPS navigation we made our way to GoodEarth Hotel. We had stayed at this hotel on Adelaide Terrace during our earlier trips. After checking in, we drove to Nina’s house in Bentley for breakfast. Then it was back to hotel for some sleep.

We had lunch at Insan, a halal restaurant near the mall at Hay Street. We shopped for some groceries at the mall. We drove to Subiaco to buy some fruits. Subiaco market is famous for its fresh produce at relatively cheaper price.

We were in Perth during the final week of spring. It was cool weather, something like staying in an air-conditioned room. It got cooler in the evening and at night. It was a pleasant change in weather for people like us from hot climate.
